If you’re taking a 1000 Islands vacation, you’ll probably want to take a scenic tour boat cruise. Years ago, the American Boat Line had a fine fleet that toured from Clayton, NY to Gananoque, CA and back. Here’s a little info about those boats.

I’d like to thank the “Historical Collections of the Great Lakes, Bowling Green State University” for permission to use data from their extensive database for this page. They have a great database of vessels from the Great Lakes region – please visit them.
Then I think I vaguely remember you Rob as I took a tour on the Adonis II when it was new. I sat on the left side near the captain who was very nice. as I recall he was having trouble with the tape recorder so he finally gave up and narrated the tour himself. I remember he was also captain of the Adonis I as well. I was just a kid in those days but what great memories.
I was a deckhand on the Adonis I and II in the 70’s: Best job imaginable!
Awesome, Rob! Thanks for taking the time to comment. Do you recall when the Adonis 1 (wooden one) left touring service and what ever happened to her? Mike
